Book 36: Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard

Switch demonstrates how we can make changes that stick by examining patterns of change. It combines research in psychology, sociology, and other fields to show how we can effect transformative change – and how to keep it. My friend Christy recommended Switch to me.

In Zero to One, entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel shows readers the secrets to building businesses on new innovations.

Book 38: Modern Monopolies: What it Takes to Dominate the 21st Century Economy

Modern Monopolies focuses on the power of the platform, or a service that creates value by the number of people who use it. For example, Facebook is only valuable if your friends use it. Moazed and Johnson show how entrepreneurs can thrive in this era of new monopolies.

Book 39: Brave New World

Brave New World is a searching vision of an unequal, technologically-advanced future where humans are genetically bred, socially indoctrinated, and pharmaceutically anesthetized to passively uphold an authoritarian ruling order–all at the cost of our freedom, full humanity, and perhaps also our souls.” – Official description

Brave New World is often compared to 1984, one of my favorite novels. Recently, I saw the Broadway adaption of 1984 and thought I should finally read this classic.

I hope you’ll be reading with me!
